The Tax Section is pleased to announce the newly revised Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan. With the revised plan, the Section will continue and expand its work toward making our organization and the tax profession a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive space. First implemented in 2001 and last revised in 2018, the DEI plan includes measurable goals for staff, leadership, committees, and volunteers to ensure DEI is ingrained at all levels of the Section.
Thanks to the Diversity in the Profession Committee and Section Council for providing feedback, ideas, and updates to the plan. An additional thank-you to the ABA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Center for guidance and suggestions.
The Section’s revised DEI Plan represents a powerful commitment by our leadership and membership to make the Tax Section more inclusive, to promote our many DEI programs, such as our Argrett Fellowships, and to seek a more just and equitable tax system. Thanks to the Section’s members and staff whose work contributed to this revision, which gives the Section a solid blueprint for our DEI work for many years to come.
