Virtual Meetings: How to, Common Questions, and Support

Thank you for joining the Section of Taxation for our Hybrid 2022 May tax Meeting! We appreciate your attendance and want to make sure you have the best possible experience as an attendee. Here,virtual attendees will find information on accessing the virtual meeting and the virtual lobby, getting the most out of your experience as an attendee, how to get help if you encounter issues, and how to access the meeting materials (session slides & supporting materials) and session recordings. 

How to Access the Meeting & Best Practices

To sign in, join the Virtual Lobby and follow these steps:

  • Enter your first name, last name, and email address, then click Next.

  • A Verification Code will be sent to your registered email address and/or cell phone number.
    Note: check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the verification message.

  • Return to your web browser, enter the code, and click Log in.
    Tip: Bookmark this web link for easier access for the rest of the conference.

  • Click All Sessions from the Lobby to check out the schedule, Join Session to join.

Best Practices

To ensure the best virtual meeting experience we suggest that you:

  • Use the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers.

  • Disconnect from VPN if you have any issues with panels buffering or not loading. Disconnecting VPN and refreshing the page often fixes this issue.

  • Need help or have questions?
    Stop by the Help Desk in the Virtual Lobby during the conference if you have any technical issues or feedback about your meeting experience! 

How to Use the Virtual Lobby

After signing in to the meeting, use the top navigation bar to access these features:

  • All Sessions: The full schedule displayed by date. To join a session, just click on the Session name. 
  • My Schedule: Allows attendees to plan their meeting experience and add sessions to their personal schedule.
  • Attendees: Click on the Attendees tab and schedule appointments to connect with other attendees throughout the meeting.
  • Sponsors: Check out what our sponsors have to offer and set up an appointment to learn more from a company representative!
  • Need Assistance? Click on the Help Desk, located at the bottom of the Virtual Lobby, to chat with ABA Tax Staff and tech help staff.

Each panel will also have their slides (and any supplements) available for download in the Cvent meeting room - simply scroll down to Files, under Session Content, for that session to access them.

Tip: To see a panel's materials before it begins, click All Sessions from the Virtual Lobby then Add the panel to your schedule to view the slides in advance, or visit the meeting materials site!

Session Recordings

Missed a session or want to revisit one you enjoyed? All CLE sessions are recorded and attendees can access them for 90 days after the meeting. To watch a recording simply return to the session from the Virtual Lobby and click Replay or click the On Demand (No CLE) tab to scroll through the available recordings. CLE is not offered for viewing recorded sessions.
