About the Committee
Our mission is to provide a forum for robust dialogue about the developments and issues related to the taxes that employers pay and withhold from wages. We are a vehicle for providing an informed view to the Tax Bar, IRS, Treasury, Congress, and State Tax Authorities regarding the impact of current law and changes to existing law on employers and employees. The Committee hosts CLE programs on Friday afternoon at each meeting of the ABA Tax Section. Another important emphasis of the Employment Taxes committee will be evaluating and preparing comments to the IRS, Treasury, and other governmental agencies on proposed guidance and regulations or other emerging policies affecting Subtitle C of the Internal Revenue Code. We are actively seeking practitioners who would like to get involved on a comment project.
Attention Young Lawyers!
The Employment Taxes Committee is actively seeking young attorneys interested in developing experience in this practice area. If you're interested in networking with peers sharing an interest in employment tax, please contact the Chair, or we welcome you to introduce yourself at the next ABA Tax Section Meeting. Information on the next meeting can be found on the Upcoming Meetings page.
