About the Committee

Dealing with tax system procedure and practice, this committee covers issues involving examination, appeals,and the Internal Revenue Service industry specialization and coordinated examination programs.

The Administrative Practice Committee is very active, and there are many ways to participate and become involved. Our Committee program is held each Friday morning at the Section's three meetings during the year. On the Thursday evening prior to the Friday program, we meet for a Committee dinner, where we socialize and forge new friendships, meet our panelists who will be presenting at the next day's meeting, discuss current administrative practice issues, and begin the planning for the next Section meeting). On the third Wednesday of most months, we hold conference calls for all members of the committee, where recent developments are debated in depth. Finally, we participate in several comments projects throughout the year, and are always looking to expand membership on our Comments Sub-Committee.

Administrative Practice on Tax Connect

Tax Connect is an online and email platform for networking, exchanging ideas, getting advice, and interacting with fellow lawyers and legal professionals with whom you share similar areas of interest. Tax Connect communities are grouped around common practice areas like Pro Bono & Tax Clinics and International Taxation. The communities are open to any Section member and are a great way to collaborate on projects and upcoming meetings!

Joining Section of Taxation Committees

The Tax Section has over thirty member-led committees and Section Members can join as many as they would like. Each committee deals with a common practice area, such as Individual & Family Taxation, Exempt Organizations, Employee Benefits, etc..
