Law Student Mentorship
The Law Student Outreach Subcommittee mentorship program is designed to support law students interested in tax careers. The Committee offers various levels of mentor participation based on interest and availability, from a short phone call to a quick job talk, all the way to ongoing mentoring. Mentor and law student mentee applications open once a year to recruit new participants.
Transfer Pricing Mentorship
The From Classroom to Boardroom (TP C2B) mentoring program provides motivated students of law, economics, and finance who are interested in pursuing transfer pricing careers with beyond-the-classroom insight into the real-world practice of transfer pricing by pairing them with corporate transfer pricing leaders. Applications open once a year to recruit new committee members.
Law Student Tax Challenge
The Law Student Tax Challenge is an annual competition sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division of the ABA Tax Section. Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions including problem drafters, judges, coordinators and more.
Diversity in the Profession Committee
The Diversity in the Profession Committee (DIPC) is responsible for the Section’s efforts to attract and retain diverse professionals as members. Applications open once a year to recruit new committee members. DIPC members serve on one of four subcommittees during their terms: fellowships and scholarships, DEI programming and publications, DEI research and policy, and Liaisons/Ambassadors.
Argrett Mentors
Two mentors are paired annually with each Fellow and will be matched based on various factors including, but not limited to, geography and practice area. Applications open once a year to recruit new mentors. In addition to mentoring the Fellows on topics such as Section participation and career advice, Mentors will be expected to serve as advisors and, where appropriate, sponsors for the Fellows for speaking, writing, and leadership opportunities.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for to attracting, engaging, and retaining members by demonstrating the value of Section membership. Applications open once a year to recruit new committee members. Committee responsibilities include focusing on non-member meeting attendees and historically underrepresented individuals, with the goal of expanding and diversifying the membership and building the Section’s leadership pipeline.
