2025 Tax Analysts Summer Fellowship Application

The application period for the 2025 Tax Analysts Summer Fellowship is now closed. Check back for updates! This will be our inaugural class of fellows. Tax Analysts and the Tax Section are excited to launch the fellowship.

What is the Tax Analysts Public Service Fellowship?

The TA Summer Fellowship builds upon the success of the Tax Analysts Public Service Fellowship, established between Tax Analysts and the ABA Section of Taxation in 2022. Like the TA Fellowship, the TA Summer Fellowship will be fully funded by Tax Analysts, reflecting the organization’s commitment to fostering public service in the tax law arena.

The TA Summer Fellowship is designed to further expand these efforts by supporting law students pursuing tax-related public interest work. The fellowship will provide financial assistance to J.D. and LL.M students undertaking full-time public service tax law projects during the summer after their 1L or 2L years or before, during, or after their LLM studies in taxation. By offering this support, the program seeks to grow the pipeline of public interest tax practitioners, expand support for low-income taxpayers, and increase the capacity and sustainability of Low-Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITCs) and similar organizations.

Key details of the TA Summer Fellowship include:

  • Program Scope: The fellowship will award two to three fellowships annually for full-time, tax-related public interest work over a minimum of ten weeks.
  • Financial Support: Tax Analysts will fund the entirety of the $7,500 stipends which will be paid to the host organizations by the ABA.
  • Application Process: Applicants must identify and secure a position with a sponsoring organization before applying. See the application for more details. Select applicants will be invited to interview with the selection committee.
  • Selection Committee: Applications will be reviewed by the Tax Section’s Public Service Fellowship (PSF) Selection Committee, which will assess candidates based on their commitment to public service and interest in tax-related work.
