Report of the Urban Lawyer Advisory Board : May 2018
At the present time, there is no editor for this publication and there is no immediate prospect for filling that role. The last issue (Summer 2017, Vol. 49, No. 3) was transmitted to Section members in December. The Board understands that another issue, containing some of the papers from the 2017 Land Use Institute, is in preparation; however, the Board has not been involved in that project.
In the spring of 2017, a past Section Chair appointed an ad hoc Committee to deal with the future of The Urban Lawyer. At the Section’s Spring Meeting in Detroit, Michigan, in April 2018, the Section’s Chair-Elect, Ron Kramer, advised that a contract with another law school to produce and edit The Urban Lawyer was under negotiation. The Board awaits action by the ad hoc Committee and the Section Council. Given the circumstances of the past year, the Council may choose to evaluate the continued relevance of our Board.
Respectfully submitted, Ed Sullivan, ULAB Chair, Past Section Chair
