ABA Connect - Details

The ABA is excited to announce ABA Connect, a more robust communication tool among our new committees. As LISTSERV sunsets, members of those groups were successfully migrated to the new system.

ABA Connect is a place to ask fellow committee members questions, post & receive announcements about upcoming committee meetings, download or upload documents from your group's library, etc. This will serve as the primary mode of group communication when materials become available or special announcements are made with important information about your committees.

Log In

Your new login is the same as your ABA login. If you are visiting the site for the first time, you may be asked to authenticate your account through an email link sent by the ABA Account Team ( and reset your password. Log in to ABA Connect for State & Local Government Law called S&L Gov Connect. Previous committees are now called:

Get Started

Once you log in, follow these quick steps:

  1. Visit your Member Profile
    Click on the circle in the top right corner of the page next to your name. Click the profile button outlined in blue. You can add your photo, bio information, contact information, and areas of interest. Access to committees is limited to members only and associated with your ABA log in information.
  2. Adjust your Privacy Settings
    Your photo and contact information including your email address, physical address, etc., are prepopulated and visible to all members of your committees unless you log in and turn off that setting. If you would like to restrict viewing, please click on the dark blue My Account tab and select Privacy Settings. Any changes you make will be made across all committees to which you belong.
  3. Customize your Committee Notifications
    In the My Account tab, select Community Notifications. Select Real Time if you would like to receive notifications as they happen or Daily Digest a compilation from the day, or no emails, (No emails means that you will not be notified of any upcoming committee meetings, any documents added to the library of the committee page, or be part of any discussion posts within the committee, but you can see activity by logging in at your leisure). You may set up different notification preferences for each committee to which you belong.

Now you can start a discussion, upload a file to the library, and share information online.
