Type: Direct Certification, Recognizes ABA Accredited  Private Certification Programs

State Programs:
Civil Trial, Criminal Trial, Matrimonial Law, Municipal Law, Workers' Compensation

Regulatory Scheme: Lawyers may communicate information regarding certification subject to the following requirements: (1) The communication must not be false or misleading and (2) must state the name of the certifying organization, including certification granted by the Supreme Court of New Jersey or by an ABA accredited organization. Where the organization has not been approved or has been denied approval by either the New Jersey Supreme Court or the ABA, such information must be "clearly identified in each such communication by the lawyer" [Rule 7.4(d)].
