It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Jim Schwartz passed away on the morning of December 23, 2024, at his home in Chicago. Jim is a former chair of the Senior Lawyers Division (2022-23) and has been Chair of the Voice of Experience Board for 6 years. His dedication, positive spirit, and companionship will be dearly missed. During his year as chair, Jim reorganized the SLD along functional lines - A Group Director was appointed in each of the 9 areas, and they continue to function quite well.  Among the many policy matters, Jim initiated a partnership with the Alzheimer's Association to help our members become aware of walks sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association and to help combat the disease. In his law practice, Jim’s areas of concentration were Real Estate, Securities, Commodity Futures, and General Corporate. In his final chair column in VOE, Jim left us with these words:

“So now my term is ending, but not my love and support for not only SLD but each of you.”

In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family requested memorial contributions be made to PAWS Chicago.

You may also wish to donate in his memory to SLD's Fund for Justice and Education (Program Support Fund), which is our 501(c)3 account.
