Preparing for Lift Off: Starting Your Personal Journey to Post-Practice Life

Ida O Abbott, Cory M Amron, Phyllis G Bossin, Renie Yoshida Grohl, and Lisa B Horowitz

Are you thinking about your post-practice life? Are you ready to take the plunge? Are you being encouraged to do so? Whether you feel prepared and excited, unprepared and worried, or have no idea at all, this program will provide valuable insights.

In this first program of the “Life After Law” series, this outstanding panel of attorneys--some still practicing and others retired from practice--will discuss their personal journey to a post-practice life. They will share the challenges including their fears, not knowing how to start, and issues of identity as well as the impact of this decision on others. They will also discuss the opportunities a post-practice life offers--freedom to think and act “outside the box” and your comfort zone and no billable hours! Finally, they will share resources including organizations and people who can help you navigate the process.
