    Elder Justice Fact of the Month

    Health care insecurity—the uncertainty and vulnerability about the ability to obtain or sustain adequate health care services—is one of the strongest correlate of elder abuse. Older adults who experience health care insecurity is about 20% more likely to experience elder abuse compared to those who do not experience health care insecurity (“Prevalence estimates and correlates of elder abuse in the United States: The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey,” 2016)."
