Surviving the Shut Down Orders

"May you live in interesting times" purports to be an English translation of an ancient Chinese curse.  Interestingly enough, we have heard it used as a toast.  Good or bad, toast or curse, we unquestionably have lived in interesting times.  Most of those who read this will have survived the Korean conflict, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the assassinations of John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, the Vietnam War, the resignation of Richard Nixon, the impeachment trials of Bill Clinton and Donald Trump and a whole slew of other “interesting” things.  Now we find ourselves living through the worst pandemic in the last 100 years, witnessing dramatic changes in lifestyle and business activities because of the fear of the Covid-19 virus.
