A group of 36 ABA members stood before the nine justices of the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC, and joined the Court’s bar on June 5.
The new admittees were in the ABA Senior Lawyer’s Division’s annual U.S. Supreme Court trip. The movant this year was Al Harvey, a member of the ABA House of Delegates. After his motion in the Court was approved, the new admittees took the oath of admission. At a reception following the ceremony, Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg met the admittees and their guests, congratulating them and answering questions on a range of topics.
The ABA Senior Lawyers Division has sponsored an admission trip to the Supreme Court for about 20 years and several hundred have participated. The 2018 trip will be held June 10-11.
