Sexual assault is an epidemic that covers every corner of this planet and has existed for centuries. In the United States alone, someone is sexually assaulted every seventy-three seconds. Sexual assault and rape are so common that one in every four women experiences some form of sexual assault in her lifetime. However, less than one percent of rapes or sexual assault cases end in any sort of conviction.1
