Your ability to practice law and live your best life, both professionally and personally, depends on maintaining your health. It’s no secret that lawyers are prone to stress, and several recent studies have revealed the alarming levels and impacts of stress on lawyers in particular. This program will provide an overview of the science of stress (beyond the familiar “fight or flight response”), the impacts of stress on the body, and how to unlock the stress cycle and prevent chronic stress from negatively impacting your health in 2023 and beyond. Specifically, this program will review the physiological response of stress in a “typical” lawyer’s day, how that stress plays out over time, and then explore the possibilities for minimizing and managing stress. This program will be in a workshop style format, so attendees will walk away with an increased understanding of how stress may be impacting them personally, different tools they may consider incorporating into their routines and a specific action plan for the new year.
