Professors' Corner—Adaptive Reuse Pt. I: Office Space Conversion

Office space rental rates plummeted during the Pandemic. Land use and industry insiders have coined a new term, “Zombie Buildings,” to describe office buildings that are less than 50% occupied. Cities have begun planning to combat this Zombie Building invasion with adaptive reuses of these properties for residential and other purposes. Our panel discusses the studies, plans and outcomes so far.
