According to idiom, death and taxes are both certain, the US trust system has established a means for the wealthy to avoid paying the latter upon the occurrence of the former. Dynasty trusts have come under attack as a mechanism that facilitates tax avoidance and perpetuates wealth inequality. This will analyze dynasty trusts and consider the benefits and burdens of this estate planning device.
