Courtney Vomund, Associate General Counsel of Spire Energy, moderates the Qualified Plan Subcommittee call from January 11, 2019.  The first half hour of the substantive call was presented by Lynn D. Dudley, Senior Vice President, Global Retirement and Compensation Policy of American Benefits Counsel.  Lynn provided the group with a Benefits Briefing entitled Retirement Plans in the new Congress. The next topic was presented by Russell Gully, Partner with Thompson & Knight, Dallas, TX and Co-Chair of the IRAs and Plan Distributions Subcommittee.  Russell discussed the IRS proposed updates/amendments to the hardship distribution rules.  Finally, David Cohen, Managing Director of the Newport Group updated the group regarding recent trends in fiduciary litigation.
