  Join a RPTE Section Committee

If you are a member of the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the Section and join a group or committee. Group membership is free of charge to all RPTE members. Once you sign up for a trust and estate or real property group, you may then join a committee on a specific subject matter within that group. These smaller committees are working bodies, and the larger groups accept members on an informational basis. The Section has 70 different committees that involve over 3,000 Section members.

For further information on group membership, we encourage you to contact the Section office at (312) 988-5651. For the complete Guide to Committees, including group and committee descriptions, please visit our web site at www.abanet.org/rpte/cmtes.

Join Us for the Joint Fall CLE Meeting in San Francisco, California!
September 11–13

The ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (RPTE) and the ABA Section of Taxation will once again co-sponsor the Fall CLE Meeting! The meeting will be held September 11–13 in San Francisco, California.

The Trust and Estate Division will offer topical CLE programming by experts in the field of trusts and estate planning, as well as joint programming with the Section of Taxation. The Real Property Division will not offer CLE programming at this event; however, it will continue to offer CLE programming at the Spring Symposia and to provide ongoing CLE teleconferences on-line.

Be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to network with the country’s leading lawyers and government officials. The latest initiatives, regulations, legislative forecasts, and planning ideas will be discussed.

2008 RPTE Membership Recruitment Contest Winner

Congratulations to Steve Gorin, the winner of the 2008 RPTE Membership Recruitment Contest! Steve recruited three new RPTE Section members and was offered his choice of prizes; however, as co-chair of the RPTE Standing Committee on Membership, he graciously declined a prize. A big “thank you” to Steve and all of the other RPTE members for their recruitment efforts this past year!
