Announcing Two New Uniform Law Committees

Uniform Laws Update provides information on uniform and model state laws in development as they apply to property, trust, and estate matters. The editors of Probate & Property welcome information and suggestions from readers.

The Uniform Law Commission (ULC) is beginning two new projects of interest to RPTE members. A new drafting committee will create uniform legislation on conflicts of state laws governing trusts and estates. A new study committee will consider whether the issue of gridlocked tenancy-in-common property can be addressed with a new uniform or model act. The ULC recently appointed both committees, which are just starting their work. Interested members of the RPTE section are invited to contribute to both projects.
