Making Fair Market Lease Renewals Fair

Many issues are discussed during negotiations for a potential lease. Most involve immediate or near-term occupancy rights and obligations. Only when those matters have been resolved do the parties turn to a discussion of renewal rights. Since renewal rights do not come into play until far in the future, renewal rights clauses often do not receive the attention they deserve.
