Professors' Corner:  The SECURE Act: Retirement Planning and Monetary Expectations

The impact of the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (“SECURE”) Act on IRAs and 401Ks will be significant—from required inherited funds to required withdrawals. Whether the Act will be successful in getting more people to plan for their retirement is not certain. The discussion will lead us through this superficially plain, but complex, legislation toward better retirement outcomes.
