Noncharitable Purpose Trusts – originally exclusively offshore creatures – have moved stateside. From pet trusts to trusts benefitting corporate interests, purpose trusts create unique drafting challenges as well as potentially troubling opportunities for misuse. Navigating the tax consequences of purpose trusts will also be explored.
