The Covid-19 crisis has greatly frustrated transactions involving the transfer of title. Some states have authorized remote notarizations, yet title searches have become difficult and recording of transfers in the public records may not be possible. Some title companies are adopting exceptions to coverage based on the disruption. The panelists will discuss these issues and offer insight on the risks and ways of steering transactions through a virtual world.

With the Covid-19 crisis, many in the nation withdrew to work remotely. This has greatly frustrated transactions involving the transfer of title. To enable consummation of deals, some states through statutes and others by governors’ executive orders, have authorized remote notarizations.
