Kimi Jackson is the director of South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR), located in Harlingen, Texas. Before becoming director in early 2014, she served as the managing attorney of ProBAR’s Children’s Project.
Kimi graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 2000, and has worked as an advocate for migrant farm workers and also for students. She is originally from Minnesota, and has also lived in North Dakota, New Mexico, Colorado, Bolivia, Japan and now Texas.
ProBAR is a project of the American Bar Association Commission on Immigration, and is located near the Texas/Mexico border and the Gulf of Mexico. ProBAR serves detained adults and detained unaccompanied minors who are facing deportation proceedings.
