Kiana Ajir is a Staff Attorney at the ABA Commission on Immigration, predominately assisting with the Immigration Court Helpdesk. Ms. Ajir received her undergraduate degree in Global Studies with a minor in Political Science from the California State University San Marcos, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude. During her time in law school, she was a Comment Editor of the San Diego International Law Journal and Associate Board Member of Appellate Moot Court, where she was granted Best Oralist at the USD School of Law Alumni Torts Competition.

Prior to joining the Commission, Kiana worked as a staff attorney for a non-profit, focusing on providing direct representation to detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts and advocated for asylum-seekers at the US-Mexico border through know your rights presentations and legal clinics. During her time in law school, she also externed for a federal judge at the US District Court for the Southern District of California and interned for Sony Electronics' legal team.

Ms. Ajir is licensed to practice law in California and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
