Katie Sheridan is a Program Specialist at the ABA Commission on Immigration. After earning her BA from Wellesley College, Katie moved to the US-Mexico border to pursue her passion for immigration justice at the Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR) in the Rio Grande valley of Texas. She spent three and a half years providing Know Your Rights Presentations and legal screenings to detained unaccompanied children and coordinating ProBAR’s services with two Office of Refugee Resettlement detention centers. Katie then went overseas for three years. As a volunteer for the Birthright Armenia program, she drafted a United Nations Universal Periodic Review report on reproductive rights for the Women's Resource Center in Yerevan, Armenia. In Australia she coordinated and evaluated program activities for Syrian refugees at the Australian Syrian Charity in Melbourne. She also worked at the Australian Red Cross Migrant Support Program, processing applications for government payments to temporary migrants. Katie is fluent in Spanish and French.
