Jacob Mantey, Young Lawyer Fellow to the ABA Commission on Immigration

Jacob Mantey is an attorney at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). He serves as coordinator for legal services for Afghans and Ukrainians. As a resettlement agency, USCRI receives and provides assistance to refugees from across the world. Jacob represents refugee entrants reunite with their family, obtain permanent residency, and work authorization documents. Jacob's practice is limited to humanitarian and family-based immigration relief. He practices before USCIS and the Department of State. A newly licensed attorney, Jacob's background includes time at the Office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand intaking immigration congressional inquiries; at the New York State Office of the Attorney General assisting with section 1983 litigation; at the Edward P. Swyer Justice Center at Albany Law School, Immigration Law Clinic representing clients in removal proceedings; and at the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York representing clients in eviction proceedings. Jacob's mission is to advance the rights and dignity of people.
