Referrals
The ABA can assist in matching victims of notario fraud with volunteer attorneys.
Civil actions against immigration consultants who engage in false or deceptive practices can compensate victims of notario fraud and deter perpetrators from future misconduct. Victims, however, are often unaware of their options for seeking recourse. Through this site, the Commission aims to connect immigrants with pro bono attorneys interested in representing them. Information about pro bono opportunities for attorneys, and requests for pro bono referrals from victims are reviewed at least once a week. We attempt to match requests based on (1) practice jurisdiction, (2) area of interest; and (3) experience. Once we have made a match, we will send an email simultaneously to the pro bono attorney and the referring attorney/advocate or client, exchanging contact information. Please note that the Commission assumes no responsibility for, and make no warranty or guarantee about, the accuracy or reliability of information, advice, or services provided by any pro bono attorney that we may refer through this site.
