Governance

The Center on Children and the Law is a grant-funded entity within the Professional Services Division of the ABA. We are based in Washington DC. Although we are not a member-entity, we work closely with many other ABA entities that do have a member component.

The Center is governed by the ABA Board of Governors, where the Center is represented by a Board Liaison.

The Center also has liaisons to or from several other ABA entities, including the Young Lawyers Division, the Judicial Division, the Law Student Division, the Commission on Youth at Risk, the Health Law Section, and the Family Law Section.

All policies issued by the Center on Children and the Law must be approved by the ABA House of Delegates.
