Summary judgment was granted in favor of school staff who counseled student who ultimately decided to leave her parents’ home at age 17. Though parents have a right to care and control of their children, actions of school staff in discussing alternatives with teen, giving limited financial support, and assisting her with forming a plan for exiting her parents’ home was not of a coercive nature to substantially intrude on parents’ due process right.
