Charlotte/Mecklenburg County’s second annual Reunification celebration was held on June 2, 2012.
The Neighborhood Advocacy Center hosted the event along with financial support from the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services and the Charlotte School of Law. The group was successful in obtaining additional funding to host the event at Carowinds Amusement Park.
Th event included a fun-filled day of roller coaster rides, food, and entertainment to recognize the families and social work community that played a part in the Reunification process. The local Guardian Ad Litem office, local juvenile district judges, and parent attorneys also took part in this celebration.
The Neighborhood Advocacy Center in Charlotte, NC hosted a reunification day celebration on June 18th, 2011. The event was a fun-filled day in the park for parents/families who had been reunified in the last year. Social workers, foster care agencies and other child welfare professionals joined the event to recognize the accomplishments of everyone that made the reunification possible and highlight the importance of reunifying families if and when possible.
