Frederick County Department of Social Services

A newsletter was sent to resource families highlighting reunification month. The newsletter shared tips to help support reunification by prioritizing the parent partnership; maintaining open communication with families, involving families, sharing pictures and videos, and maintaining cultural connections.

The Frederick County Department of Social Services'  Foster Care Facebook page included a cover photo with a reunification month image and aa post on June 1 explaining reunification and the importance in supporting it.  Additional posts  will be made throughout the month to provide further insight into how to support parent partnerships and the benefits of supporting reunification.

The third Family2Family event will be held mid-June. These events take place in the community and foster care staff invite families and encourage them to attend. Family-centered activities  help provide a neutral environment, a fun opportunity to interact and play with the children, and strengthen or build a relationship between resource parents and families.
