Eva J. Klain, JD, is an Associate Director with the ABA Center on Children and the Law, directing the Health and Wellbeing Program. With over 30 years’ experience in management of foundation and federally-funded projects, she focuses on the needs of court-involved families, trauma-responsive legal advocacy, hearing quality and judicial decision-making, and quality of legal representation. She works collaboratively to build interdisciplinary teams to mitigate bias and racism in the surveillance and reporting of families by medical professionals to child welfare. Klain received her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.
