Understanding Injunctions

Tiffany Middleton & Howard Kaplan

Program Overview

This session will explore straightforward tips for reading and understanding U.S. federal court-issued injunctions. As with any legal document, reading one may be intimidating, but injunctions contain similar parts and tend to follow a similar format. They also tend to be shorter in length than other court documents, and because they are issuing an order, are very direct and convey action, which contributes to their ‘discussability’ in the classroom.
