National Organization of Bar Counsel - NOBC
The National Organization of Bar Counsel (NOBC) was formed in 1965 to enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of disciplinary counsel throughout the United States. NOBC membership has grown to include more than 400 individuals representing more than 60 state and federal disciplinary jurisdictions in the United States and is represented in the ABA House of Delegates. Representatives from NOBC have participated in the discussion and formulation of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the Model Rules for Lawyer Disciplinary Enforcement, served as liaisons to the ABA Joint Committee on Professional Sanctions, which developed the Standards for Imposing Lawyer Sanctions, and served on the ABA Commission on Evaluation of Disciplinary Enforcement. In addition, NOBC regularly provides faculty members for the annual National Conference on Professional Responsibility.
