[FCBA Letterhead]

Wayne J. Positan, Esq., Chair
ABA Multijurisdictional Practice Comm’n
103 Eisenhower Parkway
Roseland, NJ 07068-1049

Dear Mr. Positan:

The Federal Communications Bar Association wishes to thank you and the other members of your Commission for your hard and conscientious work. As you know, we have been anxious that your proposal for Rule 5.5 of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct recognize the multijurisdictional nature of today’s law practice, and the frequent needs of clients for the temporary services of lawyers in jurisdictions other than those in which the lawyers have their offices and are admitted to the bar.

We commend the Commission for the proposed revised wording of Rule 5.5 in your Final Report to the House of Delegates. We endorse that wording as in the interests of the clients whom we all serve and the lawyers who seek to meet their needs.

Sincerely,
/s/

Margaret L. Tobey
