Dear Mr. Simmons:

On behalf of Women in Community Service, Inc., I would like to express our support for the consideration of multidisciplinary practices of the American Bar Association.

The mission of Women in Community Service is to assist women and youth in becoming self-reliant and economically independent. An integral part of independence is accessibility to services. We often refer our clients to one-stop-shops that offer a variety of services such as employment opportunities, child-care services, housing information.

Having multidisciplinary teams within the legal system is an added plus for our clients. Many of them have limited means of transportation and this enables them to take care of their legal needs without the worry of transportation to several locations.

One-stop-shops continue to be the way of the future in all areas. We are currently working on developing one-stop-shops for youth. We know that economically disadvantaged women and youth would not be the only benefactors of being able to access multidisciplinary practices. We see this service as one that would be beneficial to all.

If there is any additional information we can provide you, please feel free to contact me.
