Biography
Ms. Shipley received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1992 and obtained a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Anne Arundel Community College in 1995. She is currently working as an in-house corporate paralegal for Allegis Group, Inc. in Hanover, Maryland, having previously worked as a paralegal at Hyatt & Weber, P.A. in Annapolis, Mayland, for over 25 years. In November, 2005 she earned her PACE - Registered Paralegal® credential. She has been active in the Maryland Association of Paralegals, having served in various capacities, as well as the National Federation of Paralegal Associations where she currently serves as American Bar Association Coordinator. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Legal Studies Institute at Anne Arundel Community College and is also an active member of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Alumni Council. She has two college-aged daughters, Annie and Emily. She resides in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband, Loren. In her spare time, she enjoys kickboxing and watching athletic events at the Naval Academy.
Statement
Ms. Shipley became involved with the Approval Commision through her role with the National Federation of Paralegal Associations. She firmly believes that a paralegal education, especially when provided by ABA approved programs, creates a strong foundation for those wishing to pursue a paralegal career.
