I had taken a brief break from serving in various positions with the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) for over a decade. NALA sends a representative to serve on the Commission. When the term expired for NALA’s previous representative, NALA’s President called me and asked if I would be willing to serve as NALA’s next representative to the Commission.
I had served as a paralegal member on a site team in 2000, so I had an idea of some of the functions of the Commission. Having served on NALA’s Certifying Board and NALA’s Advanced Paralegal Certification Board, I had an interest in doing more to further the development of education for paralegals. I accepted the nomination of NALA’s President and have enjoyed serving as a member of the Commission. I enjoy meeting faculty, current and future paralegals across the country during my site visits on behalf of the Commission.
