Premier Sponsor Guidelines

We are fortunate to have two Premier Sponsors of the Litigation Section: Berkeley Research Group (BRG) and Round Table Group (RTG). Both companies are valuable sources of information in the expert witness services and consulting space. Working with these companies allows us to increase Section benefits while also highlighting our relationship with both sponsors. Below are helpful guidelines and best practices for Section leaders in providing content and programming to Section members while working with our two Premier Sponsors.

  • Each Premier Sponsor will have up to 10 Committee Liaisons
    • Premier Sponsors select the committees for which they would like to have liaisons.
    • These liaisons are not leaders but are valued members of their committees and should be involved in meetings and calls.
    • Liaisons are not expected to be working members of your committee.
    • Liaisons and our sponsors are not expected to create member benefits (articles, webinars) but are invited to work with committees to the extent they are interested.
    • Representatives from sponsors, competitors, or other vendor companies should not hold certain subcommittee chair positions (programming, membership, social media, newsletter). If you have questions, please contact Revenue Officer Nash Long or Jody Slate. *
  • A sponsor may suggest program ideas, but they will work with committee leaders on submissions, and may not serve as program chair or moderator of any panel, program, etc.*
  • BRG and RTG should be contacted first for speaker invitations (such as CLE meetings and webinars, Roundtables, Committee Meetings) or article submissions. If they decline due to timing or because they do not have someone available/relevant, other vendors may be considered and names/companies should be sent to the Section’s Sponsorship & Fundraising Manager, Jody Slate, for approval before invitations are extended. Remember content must be substantive and not a sales/marketing pitch.
  • Sponsors and vendors should not host meetings, events, etc. that conflict with Section programming and events during Section meetings. *
  • See Competitor lists proposed by our new sponsors, to make sure that we provide opportunities and collaborations to Section sponsors.
  • Be welcoming to our Premier Sponsors, please give them a heads-up on committee meetings, and thank them for being an essential part of our Section.
  • And any questions, feel free to reach out to Revenue Officer Nash Long or Sponsorship & Fundraising Manager Jody Slate. We appreciate the committees’ help on these issues!

*These guidelines apply to all sponsors and vendors of the Section.

Sponsor Competitor Policy

The Litigation Section enjoys annual sponsor relationships with its two Premier Sponsors, Berkeley Research Group (BRG) and Round Table Group (RTG), and its Meetings Sponsor, LexisNexis. To protect the investment and benefits for these sponsors, the following Sponsor Competitor Policy is in place for all Section and Committee meetings and activities.

The Sponsorship & Fundraising Manager should be notified if an individual from any of the sponsor entity’s top-tier competitors, or like service providers (e.g., economic consultants, e-discovery firms, expert witness services, legal research and solutions), is proposed as a speaker at any Section conference or seminar or as an author of any article or electronic content to be published by the Section, before the speaker or author is confirmed. If an individual from a top-tier competitor is suggested, our contractual sponsors have the right to suggest a comparable speaker or author for the planning committee’s consideration. In addition, if any of the sponsor entity’s competitors is proposed as a sponsor or meeting host, the Sponsorship & Fundraising Manager should also be contacted before any outreach or invitation is extended as current commitments may preclude support from these entities.
