Kenneth R. Feinberg is one of the singular figures in the American legal community. As Jack B. Weinstein, the federal judge in Brooklyn who appointed Feinberg to his first major mediation case in the 1980s, famously said, “[i]f he were a painter or an artist, he would be the Picasso of the legal field.”
