Lawyer on Jury: A Trial Lawyer’s Notes from Inside a Jury Box

As a lawyer, I never thought that I would serve on a jury. I had been struck from jury panels multiple times, presumably because of my profession. To my surprise, however, I was chosen last spring to serve as a trial juror. The case was a private lawsuit in state court for age discrimination brought by a retired police officer against his former employer.
