2019 Women in Litigation Joint CLE Conference
Overview
Join us for the 2019 Women in Litigation Joint CLE Conference as we commence the Section’s year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which guarantees and protects women’s constitutional right to vote. The Conference will highlight women successfully leading in the courtroom, in the judiciary, and in the profession. Programs will focus on trial skills, insurance litigation, products liability litigation, and securities and financial litigation. Connect with nationally recognized litigators, renowned judges and mediators, corporate counsel, and industry representatives at a variety of networking events.

Keynote Luncheon Speaker
Linda Coberly chairs Winston & Strawn’s Appellate & Critical Motions Practice and serves as managing partner of the firm’s oldest and largest office. She has argued nearly 50 appeals—spanning eight different federal circuits, as well as state appellate courts across the country—and has served as “appellate lawyer at trial” in courts on both coasts. She has particular expertise in securities and financial fraud cases, product liability suits, administrative law, and class actions. She provides advice on strategic legal issues at all stages of litigation, from before trial to the U.S. Supreme Court, informed by her time as a clerk for Justice Stephen G. Breyer. Ms. Coberly Serves as a Director of Heartland Alliance (the Midwest’s largest human rights and anti-poverty organization) and as Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Chicago’s Goodman Theater. She is also the Chair of the Legal Task Force of the national ERA Coalition. She received an B.A. from Princeton and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Cancellation/Substitution Info
Registration cancellations must be made in writing by Wednesday, October 23, 2019 and are subject to a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be provided for requests made after this date. Registrants who do not cancel before Wednesday, October 23, 2019 and who do not attend will receive a copy of the program materials after the Conference. Written substitutions will be permitted until Wednesday, October 30, 2019. After this date, substitutions must be made onsite. Substitutions are not permitted once a registrant has registered onsite or the Conference has occurred. Only the substitute will be eligible for CLE credit. The substitute and original registrant must work out the payment between themselves. Please submit all written requests to Rachael Tarach at rachael.tarach@americanbar.org.
