Mentoring Your Mediator: The Old Girls’ Network

Women building careers in alternative dispute resolution can profit from the active support and encouragement of women litigators.

When it comes to mentoring, my interest goes back some decades. I wrote about our profession’s need for mentoring in my first column as chair of the Section of Litigation, entitled “Where Have All the Mentors Gone?” (Litigation, Winter 1993) (available online through JSTORE with a subscription). But why, you might ask, does a mediator need mentoring, and why would you, a practicing litigator, want to do that?
