International Litigation & Dispute Resolution

About the Committee

Message from the Chairs

Welcome to the International Litigation & Dispute Resolution Committee’s webpage and to our 2023–24 bar year!

We are excited to re-invigorate and continue growing our Committee to provide an easily accessible platform for U.S. and international lawyers to collaborate with respect to matters and issues involving cross-border litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

The world gets smaller every day and with it we continue to see cross-border disputes on the rise and an increase in international legal issues playing a role even in domestic litigation. Our Committee provides a forum for advocates in the United States and around the world to learn from one another, develop their careers, publish scholarly works, speak on timely topics, disseminate breaking news, address emerging case law, comment on proposed legislation, and become active participants in the global dispute resolution legal community. We already have some fantastic virtual programming in the planning stages and are seeking proposals for articles and other programming. If you have a legal issue that interests you, please let us know and we will assist you in putting it together.

Our Committee is organized into various Subcommittees, including Subcommittees dedicated to the various global regions in which Committee members do work. We are still seeking Subcommittee chairs, which are vitally important to the Committee’s work and highly visible throughout the year. It’s a great opportunity to self-starting leaders, so if you are interested in filling any of these positions, please email us.

In any event, we encourage you to join and be involved in the Committee and one or more of our Subcommittees. Other opportunities include participating in our Sound Advice programs, Roundtables, and publications. We know the strength of the international litigation community and want you to be a part of this fast-growing forum!

To become involved, all you have to do is drop an email to one or both of us to let us know.

We look forward to meeting and working with you.

Onward!
