In most instances, cities, counties, and other political subdivisions are like any other commercial insureds. They have many of the same procurement, claim, and coverage problems encountered by typical businesses. However, over the past few years, a handful of insurance coverage issues unique to political subdivisions have received judicial or statutory attention. This article explores a few of those issues.
