No Bullies Allowed: Addressing Bullying in the Workplace

State legislators are taking additional steps to expand the law to ensure anti-bullying policies are enforced and that all employers follow suit.

“Bullying is the sexual harassment of 20 years ago; everybody knows about it, but nobody wants to admit it,” noted Lewis L. Maltby, president of the National Workrights Institute. In fact, a recent study released by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) reported that employee turnover resulting from negative workplace culture cost businesses almost a quarter of a trillion dollars over the last five years.
