When it comes time to respond to a motion to transfer your case into an MDL, you will need to know more than just the basics. MDLs involve their own set of unique motions, procedures, and filing requirements, all governed by the rules of procedure of the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. Familiarity with these rules is essential, and even attorneys with experience in MDLs will benefit from becoming reacquainted with them, as new amendments to the rules went into effect on October 4, 2010.
